Misha attended the Supernatural Las Vegas Convention [March 8-10] with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

As I previously let you know, Misha was on hand at Emerald City Comic-Con [March 1-3].

Supernatural is welcoming back one of its own.

Misha Collins will be returning to The CW drama for the ninth season as a series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. He also will direct an episode.

Collins, who has played Castiel for 50 episodes, first appeared on the Jared Padalecki-Jensen Ackles series in the season-four premiere. His most recent appearance came in the Jan. 16 episode of the current eighth season. The actor was a series regular on seasons five and six.

It looked like Supernatural was headed for cancellation when it was sent packing to Friday nights. It performed well enough in the ratings that The CW decided to move it back to a regular weeknight. Will the series continue to be one of the network’s best performers? Stay tuned.

Misha is in a new clip released from Friday’s new episode of Supernatural “Survival of the Fittest”! Who’s going to watch it?

SpoilerTV has reported some fan tweets from the current Supernatural convention in Rio (hashtag #RioCon), and among the things revealed, actors have allegedly confirmed that the season will have 24 episodes – in a time where some shows are only brought back for reduced seasons, this is reassuring news.

Another fan tweet quoted Jim Beaver (Bobby) as saying that Misha Collins will indeed be back in season 8. Clearly Jim has some knowledge about the finale, which must indicate that the door is left open for Misha to return, but of course we can’t take this as absolute confirmation. It’s a good sign, though!

“I have told [executive producer] Sera [Gamble] that I would love to come back next season if that is something that works out for everybody’s schedule,” he said. “If it’s in the cards, it would be great. I don’t know yet how things are going to play out.”

Hopefully, they’ll bring Misha as Castiel back for the next season!
